Partying While Black: African Americans Denied Entry To Bar

Civil Rights, News 0 35

This story has gotten much coverage lately, except by the local Dallas television media, until recently. So much so that Houston television station, Fox 26 had to cover the story to get more traction.  DeAndre Upshaw attempted to enter Kung Fu Saloon at their Dallas location, but was denied entry. Watch this telling video about discrimination circa 1962 happening in Dallas, TX.

Watch one of the incidents caught on camera. This is awful and is an example of what many people of color have to deal with around the country.

The Civil Rights Act clearly prohibits discrimination or segregation in places of public accommodation, publicly or privately owned and operated. The community has shown its outrage by hosting a #NoKungFu campaign against the bar. Hopefully, this will serve notice to the other racist entertainment venues.
