President Barack Obama called on Ebony Magazine’s Kevin Chappell at his Thursday prime-time news conference.
Obama also gave his first presidential print interview to Black Enterprise magazine. This shows a shift in presidential political coverage that news networks must note.
Clarence B Jones, a columnist for the Huffington Post, said in his recent article that “(blacks are) still searching for balance between their celebration and constructive criticism (for Obama).” This is true but major networks now must at least compete with these Black publications for White House news coverage. They must also hear the voice of Black America. This is great for media.
