Former VP Dick Cheney has been exposed by journalist Seymour Hersh of allegedly running an assassination ring during the Bush Administration. Why should you care?
This means that the Vice Presidential Office did not use the CIA, nor the armed forces’ authority to carry out these attacks. This means that the forces under Cheney executed individuals that were not in combat but were “listed” as aggressors towards America.
The killings are alleged to have been in Afghanistan, Iraq and surprisingly in Latin America and other countries. This doesn’t mean that the U.S. had sufficient evidence to uphold these executions, it means that the U.S. went against war crime laws, tenets and treaties that encourages a “due process” under the law. Assassination would also mean that the U.S. killed non-aggressors, those that were not fighting back. Cheney’s National Security Aide, John Hannah, says that some attacks were carried outand that the administration had the authority to assassinate but he didn’t detail the areas these occurred or if Cheney had anything to do with the killings.
Not only this, but Cheney is now being accused of telling Israeli authorities that then President-Elect Obama was pro-Palestinian and he “wouldn’t make it in the big leagues.” When this was said, Obama was putting pressure on the Israelis to stop bombing the Gaza offense (which is Palestinian). It is almost unprecedented for an administration of the United States to undermine the incoming administration on the international front since we are all to be fighting for liberties and justice for all.
