Krystin Mitchell, Accountant
Ms. Krystin Mitchell, an accountant residing in Houston, TX, works at NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO). She began her career at NASA JSC in 2009 as a Property Accountant supporting NASA’s mission by ensuring the integrity of Assets on NASA’s Financial Statements. Ms. Mitchell took on additional responsibilities as a cost accountant in 2013 and joined the Internal Controls and Policy Office in 2014 performing internal reviews of various organizations at NASA JSC.
Ms. Mitchell supports several NASA organizations, and has earned several awards. Ms. Mitchell, successfully passed all four parts of the certified public accountant (CPA) exam in November 2014 and started her own bookkeeping and tax advisory business in January of 2015.
Ms. Mitchell is a member of the Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church young adult choir, serves as a volunteer income tax preparer for low income families, served as a Fed’s Feeds Families representative and supports the Southeast Texas Great Dane Rescue.
Ms. Mitchell earned a Masters Business Administration from the University of Houston while working full-time as a Senior Accountant for Enterprise Holdings. She also earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting from Angelo State University at 19 years of age and graduated from John Jay High School at 15 years of age and in the top ten percent of her class.
